How do you turn a zine into a live performance? To be honest, we're still working on that one and the show continues to evolve. The roadshow started as a series of zine readings, with some performance poetry thrown in. We wanted it to be educational, so we brought along resources, leaflets and a mobile library of women's health zines for people to check out before and after the show. After a few shows, we got tired of looking down at the pages all the time and tried to memorise some of the text. That made it look more like a series of vignettes and comedy sketches. After a while we felt the material was definitely too familiar to us, and didn't want to repeat the same stuff to the same audiences, so we started throwing in new material from the next issue of the zine each time we performed. We added props and costume signers. We've experimented with comedy songs. Just lately we've been writing material independently of the zines for a totally menstrual sketch comedy stage show. So...that's how. You want we should perform for you? Please get in touch if you'd like us to perform. At this stage, you can have some input into the show as it continues to morph into a fully-fledged professional production. Our show also comes apart - like lego.
